Campus Safety Magazine on July 18 announced that it was looking for campus Security Directors to volunteer to take their survey about campus access control systems.

The story notes the importance of access control, visitor management, and other electronic life-safety and security systems in mitigating problems at large campuses.

“Many crimes, such as school shootings, emergency department violence, theft and vandalism, can be prevented or mitigated with the installation of locks, visitor management and access control systems. But are hospitals, schools and universities doing all they can to take full advantage of these solutions?” the story asks. “Are they maintaining them? Are they supporting this equipment with appropriate policies and procedures? For some campuses, the question might simply be, ‘Do they have any access control, locks and visitor management systems installed at all?'”

Norris has written previously about the importance of having access control systems in place at your business or school, as well as making sure those systems are up to date.

Survey takers are automatically entered into a chance to win a $50 gift card.

Survey responses are used to guide the direction of editorial for the magazine.
