In an ongoing series of Employee Profiles, we’ve been highlighting our greatest assets–our people. Today’s Employee Profile is on Brooks Thompson.

What’s your title and included duties at Norris?

Bangor Operations Manager. I schedule all Services, Inspections, Maintenance, Finals, and Installs for the territory. Manage the technicians. Manage the stock room, with help from the sales team (Including parts that need to be inventoried and shipped). Bangor Safety committee member. This includes all monthly, quarterly, and annual safety tasks for the territory. I recently started Project Managing large projects for the territory. 

How long have you been at Norris?

10 Years.

What different positions have you held at Norris?

Installer, Inspector, Field Supervisor, Operations Manager.

How has your tenure at Norris prepared you to be successful in life?

My time at Norris has helped me be more open to change due to the ever-changing field we work in and new technologies we are working with.

What do you love most about your job?

Working along-side my peers. We all have a role within the company, as a group, we make a great team.

What frustrates you about your job?

Being in an office all day is a struggle for me; I enjoy getting out in the field as often as possible.

Were you/are you a first responder or military?

No.

Do you have a family?

Yes.      

Children?

Yes, two. Daughter Emerson (3), Son Clark (6 ½ months).

What lessons have you learned through your duties at Norris that you’d like to pass on to others/your children?

Work hard and don’t give up. Have confidence in yourself and challenge yourself every day.

Can you talk about one personal goal you have for 2019?

Take time for my family. I often find myself on the go, I need to spend more time with my wife and children.

Can you talk about one professional goal you have for 2019?

Continue to grow the Bangor territory. Not just in size but help all individuals, including myself, grow professionally.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare/free time?

Spending time with my wife and children, Coaching Wrestling, and working around/on the house.

Anything else I haven’t asked about that people should know?

I have a great group of peers and respect each and every one of them. I appreciate all the expertise they bring to the table and really appreciate how they are willing to take care of one another.
