Norris Inc. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, was honored with the Diamond Award at Fire Alarm Manufacturer Notifier’s annual Regional Celebration Night.
The evening was an opportunity for Notifier to recognize successful partnerships but was served another important purpose according to Norris Chief Sales Officer, Peter Reed, who noted that networking made the fun event even more valuable.
“It’s always nice to be recognized for our year-long efforts and commitment to the brand, but the night is about much more than that,” Reed explained. “Spending an evening mingling with your peers in the industry, discussing service and sales models, sharing new ideas on workflow, and overcoming old pain points and frustrations – that’s what we appreciate most from these get-togethers.”
Reed attended the event with Norris Systems Integrator Melissa Peters who is the company’s resident Nicet III-certified fire alarm expert.
Peters agreed the evening of celebration and the recognition the Diamond Award carried made for a great evening.
“Notifier hosted the event to honor its regional Notifier distributors for their efforts and successes in 2018,” Peters said. “H’ordeuvres and drinks were served and some of Notifier’s newest products were on display. Awards were handed out by Ricky Houde, Notifier’s New England & Upstate NY Regional Sales Manager.”
Reed noted that Houde while handing out awards of recognition to distributor partners, was himself worthy of recognition.
“Though the night was not about Ricky I want to mention how appreciative we are of the support he provides us throughout the year. It’s a tough job balancing the manufacturer’s road map and expectations with the day-to-day needs of his distributors and Ricky handles it all extremely well,” Reed said. “He’s a true partner and that’s all that we could ask for in an RSM. Thanks, Ricky!”
For his part, Houde said Norris was given the 2019 Diamond award in recognition of their unique position in the market.
“Norris was presented with the Diamond Award for 2019. The Diamond Award is provided to distributors that show leadership in the marketplace by taking on new breakthrough initiatives within Notifier.,” Houde said. “The breakthrough initiative that Norris adopted is Bi-Directional Amplifiers or BDA which is also known as an Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System. The intent of the ERRCS is to provide a tool for emergency responders to maintain radiocommunications during an incident, and a higher level of protection and safety for firefighters while inside buildings.”
Houde also noted that no other Northern New England life-safety company had invested what Norris had in this life-saving technology.
“Norris invested over $10,000 in equipment, factory
training, and FCC Licenses for technicians in order to provide site surveys,
install, commission, service and inspect these systems that becoming one of the
largest Fire Industry growths,” Houde said. “They are the only
NOTIFIER ESD in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont that is providing this
type of UL 2524 listed ERRCS.”
The annual Regional Celebration Night took place on Wednesday, October 9 at the
Sheraton, Boston.
Reed, whose relationship with Notifier extends back 16 years, has oversight of 11 sales reps throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Six of those are directly involved with the consulting/sale/maintenance of Notifier life safety systems.
The Diamond Award recognizes outstanding service and sales achieved during the year.
Peters sells primarily fire alarm systems to the contractor and end users markets.
